Flavorful Pot Roast

There are few easier ways of cooking than using a slow cooker, yet the results can be amazing.

This wonderful roast uses cheaper cuts of beef, but slow cooked they will be fall apart tender.



  • 2-3 kg boneless beef chuck roasts or beef topside
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix, or 4 tablespoons of ready sauce
  • packet Italian salad dressing mix, or 4 tablespoons of ready sauce
  • 4 tablespoons gravy granules
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Chopped fresh parsley, optional


  • Place the chuck roasts in a large slow cooker.
  • In a small bowl, combine the salad dressings and gravy mix; stir in water. 
  • Pour over meat. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or until tender. 
  • If desired, sprinkle with parsley and thicken cooking juices for gravy.
